I meet casinoman at one of my caches After a handfull of DNF 's I went to check things out. No one was seraching as a party of 10 or so gave up Along came casionoman to get 2 FTF and his magellan was reading 0 feet GZ the same as my lowerance. That was how I found out about this site and I have been coming here ever since. So if you have trouble with any of my hides seek casinoman's help? Laughing

It doesn't matter which GPS you're using when searching for a tricky hide by the butcher. Smile NO BULL, Lil Cubby (never did find it), Legion Lake and Walk By Me were all great hides!

that also gos to show you my GPS may be a Magellen and yes it may be off ( some times ) but that just means that we Magellen users know how to search better.
Very Happy Very Happy

Now lets be serious now matter witch GPS you have it is all about the fun of the find not what GPS you use to find it.
It all comes down to which GPS you started with or used first.
Or which one works best in your hands.
Razz Razz Razz

Of course, we all know it is about the fun of the find but we can't help poking fun when people start talking about Magellans. Very Happy My first 500 finds were using a Garmin Foretrex with no maps, just a little arrow to follow. That just made it trickier to get to ground zero but even now with my 60Cx, I think my DNF rate is still the same even with fancy maps. Smile

When I was looking the other day, once I was in the area, the unit was in my pocket, and we were looking for the hides. s far as rechargeable batteries: Mine uses 2 AA's. No worries, as long as I've got enough for a new set every 10 hours or so. :/

We're going to head back to the area and search again, these 2 hides are so close to my house, I drive past them everyday.

I may eventually get a garmin to see how they work, but that may be a ways off. The first unit I ever used was a Garmin last year during the Sequcentennial Geocache Challenge last year, got to use one of those Demo units the parks had.
