I just noticed that the "newest in Minnesota" link on my profile page seems to be gone. Crying or Very sad I use this all the time because it is the simplest way to see event caches. How do I get this link back?

OMG! They changed it again! SO annoying.

(Let me know if you find these changes annoying also, because I'm worried I'm just old now and fear any type of change.)

I don't mind change for progress' sake. I don't mind improvement. I don't mind simplification.

What I mind is the all-to-common thinking "It is new, therefore it is better." That way thinking often lodges itself in the heads of developers.

More subtle, however, and sometimes more insideous, is when development is driven by help desk calls. The help desk gets thousands of calls about XYZ. To eliminate those calls, they don't fix XYZ, they get rid of it. No XYZ, no calls about XYZ.

I'd hate to see what they would come up with if they were responsible for highway markings.

You can still get to events in MN by

Don't enter a location in the search bar on the Search page. Then click "Change Filters," deselect everything but Events, Add your state to "Search Only In..." and "Click Update Search." Then sort by date.

The site limited my search to 30 miles, so all that the search returned to me was an event in Albert Lea that should be archived, and my own.

butcherandswimmer's link got me there. Thank you.

The new search function has a learning curve for me too! I used to quickly be able to search for puzzles. Now I go to from Home Coordinates, add filters, up that mileage a bit (10 miles - really?) and select only Mystery, plus a few other filter items, the search brings back some nice results. I can sort on any of the headers. Well, I can learn a new trick Very Happy

I went on the geocaching forum last night and read the comments under release notes 3-11-15. I added my comment too. I suggest other MnGCA members do the same.
