Found a deer tick after leaving a cache in Chisago City this morning. He is hitch-hiking on Hwy 8 now.

Received a tick check after getting home. Very Happy

I found what I believe was a deer tick that I picked up somewhere between Owatonna, Geneva, and Albert Lea. I think I slightly maimed the thing...at least I hope so. So far no signs of any dasterdly deeds being done....lol

Saw and flicked a deer tick on my smartphone while caching in Blaine open-space-swamp-whatever. I was actually really surprised I only saw one and NONE on me!

For the record...I HATE ticks...something about a multi-legged creature that lives off of your blood...just creeps me out!!!

I had my first two deer ticks of the year yesterday in northern WI. One was like salt in a wound. I went after a cache which I dnfed, shredded my arms on prickly ash, then as I dragged myself back into my vehicle, I noticed a deer tick on my pants. Disgusting! I'd rather not go on a regimen of Doxycycline when I finally can put in some time outside. Could be worse. I could have found it on my skin two days from now.

I'll go on record as never finding a deer tick on my body as of yet. I have found thousands of regular ticks, but no deer ticks.

Other than being told they are much smaller, I probably couldn't tell the difference. I suspect most small ticks people see are wood ticks in the nymph stage.

Deer Tick.
Wood Tick.
The deer tick nymph will be much smaller and clear with black legs.
Hence the other name the black legged tick. After the clear stage I have seen solid black in color. But all deer tick have long mouth parts to dig in real deep. Making them hard to remove. Wood ticks a fat in shape, while
Deer ticks look like a drop of water in shape.
I picked one up in Riverdale at Johnny's Cache behind Best Buy.

Yes, all of them. If all it took to get rid of ticks was a little snow and cold, MN would not have any.
