Has anyone thought about a short caching trip to Chicago using the $39 flight to Chicago from NWA? Rent a car and divide it up? I think that with four people a three or four day trip could be under $200 excluding food. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |

Could be a good time. But I've got too many other trips planned.. Great River Road, Great Lakes, Texas, NW Minnesota. |

I have seen the posts on the Great River Road trip. I have been thinking about that one. That definitely sounds interesting. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |

If you want to go I have room. It'd be nice to split the trip costs. I have one for sure, and two tentative meetups in Memphis for the southern half. |

Ooh, a Chicago trip sounds fun!
I cache with my 2 teenage cousins. One is going to be away at summer camp for 3 weeks and we tease him that while he's gone we're gong to cache our way across WI, stop at WI Dells for water slides and then hit up Six Flags of Chicago.
I wish! |

Oh I love Chicago but it's a bit cold right now. Anyone up for going in May? |

| If you ever decide to do a Chicago trip I'd offer these tips...(I know old thread, but times have changed since the original post) fly SWA into Midway, it's closer to downtown and you can get a 24 hour transit pass, take the Orange line into the city and you don't have to mess with traffic (and trust me traffic from Ohare can suck and literally eat up half the day) You can take the blue line in from OHare but it is a longer ride since it is farther out from downtown... but I've never really looked to see if there are caches along either line (I'd use caution on the Orange line since it goes through the infamous south side) If you're looking to spend the night look at the Red Roof Inn on Ontario I think. It is super cheap (compared to what's around) and you're basically right on Michigan Ave. Oh and stop by the Garmin store, it's pretty cool. |
