Idea I found this handy little placard you can hang on your rear view mirror after printing and laminating. You can find it here: http://geocacher-u.com/content/blogcategory/69/90/

Sometimes we park in peculiar places especially in more rural locations. I can't decide if this is an invitiation to theft or a notice for police not to ticket and tow or to find you if you don't return to the car. I'm curious as to what other people think. Would you use it?

Thanks,

I've seen these. If you're legally parked, I wouldn't worry about the coppers. As for maggots, I'd rather they didn't know when I was coming back to my car.

I hate to burst your bubble, but if you're parked illegally and a cop wants to write you a ticket, you'll get the ticket whether you have this hangtag, a giant air freshener, or a religious symbol hanging from your mirror. I have a fancy "On Assignment" media placard that is good in a handful of really weird locations, none of which are close to any caches that I know of.

The only thing it might be good for is if your car is still there and he recognizes the goofy hangtag from earlier he might stop to read it before putting a second ticket on your car, in which case if you've put the cache down in that white space they might initiate SAR, depending on where you are I suppose. But you'll probably still get the ticket(s)
