We'd have to do it on a weekend at dusk in the area he was already caching, so as not to ruin his finds-per-caching-day average. We probably couldn't post it until a week or two (at most) before the date, so that we know where he'd be. Even then, there'd probably be no guarantee he'd show up. Very Happy

Last year on his 1st anniversary I invited him to hide some temp caches at the Million Shades Of Autumn event. He showed up at 6am and hid his caches said Hi and was off to get his quota.
Love to do some thing at this years event. GC1V4J4

Yeah, and you're such a stranger to getting in trouble, aren't you, Bart? Laughing

I know that Bob's personal goal is 14000 by the end of his 2nd year. I was there when he told that to Zuma! and Team Honeybunnies (#2 & #3 Cheeseheads), so he's pretty well committed to it. He's #62 in the worldwide rankings as of this morning.

I need to straighten the record out. I misquoted his goal as 14000. 12000 is the number that Bob said his goal was. He's at 11728 (272 short of that goal). I think he'll do that easily!

At that point, why stop.

I envy his ability to cache whenever HE wants. This family thing dictating to me when I can and can't cache is a problem. Crying or Very sad And work, well, that's just plain disgustingly inconvenient.

But is he caching when he WANTS to, or does he now feel the need to cache to hit the goal -- is it like a job now?

He's at 11914 as of this morning and I assume he's out hunting as I type this. Based on past performance I wouldn't be surprised if he reaches his goal today. Whether it's a joy or an obsession or a chore only he can answer, but if it's a chore I would think his find rate will drop off sharply once he hits 12000.

Well, he did it. 12000+ in two years. He's still logging today's finds, but he's at 12015 as I write this. And he still has (barring any vacaction time) two more days (Sunday the 13th and Saturday the 25th).

Today is the first day of his third year. (If one were really insistent about the accuracy of his two-year total one would need to know the time of day of his first find on 09/26/2007, but even I think that might be overdoing it a bit.) 64 finds yesterday brings his total to 12345, a number that I would guess not to be a random coincidence. Finding 7345 in his third year as he did in his second year would result in 19690 finds. That leads me to guess that if there's a goal to be set for a three-year total that 20000 has already been strongly considered.

Bobcam's first find was my brother's (xhawk) cache off the Gateway trail in Maplewood. Last year he visited the cache-maybe again this year?!
Kudos to Bobcam on this amazing run and maybe someday he can be number #1 finder in the world.

Bump.
Sometime during the last couple days Bobcam has become the number two cache finder in the world.

I never bet Bob but came close many times. We have communicated by email and seems like a nice guy.

I did meet the #1 Alamogul on the Alaskan Geocaching Cruise where he gave a presentation to all the cachers. Oh, and after that he handed out personalized baseball cards with his photo and stats. Rolling Eyes

I hope Bob beats him to 100,000.
