CONGRATULATIONS ON THE UNBELIEVABLE NUMBERS.
5021 IN ONE YEAR - A LEGEND IS MADE.

I've had the opportunity to cache with Bobcam and it is really something. Knowschad is right as it is almost impossible to pull him off a GZ and admit a DNF, even whenyou later find out the cache had been moved over 600 feet he just says we should have found it. And, the guy is a machine on the trail. He'll hike ya into the dust.

Oh, almost forgot, the reference of 5021 instead of 5022: I happened on a DNF log written by Bob with a found smiley. hehe but who's counting one error in 5000+ logs.

There is even a writeup of Bobcam's exploits on the wi-geocaching forums.

Way to go Bob.

Amazing!

I met Bobcam on the trail once, January 12th, 2008, Live Wire cache near Elk River. I didn't realize at the time that, but I was in the vicinity of greatness.

Congratulations Bobcam!

Yes, indeed - CONGRATS!!! I get tired just thinking of all those caches. I happened to notice the other day some of the caches he had done in an area - it took me a number of days to get those done.Is he a fast runner (LOL) and sprints from cache to cache? All I can say is, WOW and congrats again. I would like to meet this legend someday.

... of meeting Bobcam at GC16DF9 Lake Superior College Disc Golf on November 23rd, 2008. I'd been searching for 20 minutes when from out of the brush comes a gent on a mission! He asked if I was geocaching, I found the cache as I answered his question. Bobcam logged us both in & off he went for the next cache to the west. I did mention that he could not get there from here, without going back out to Trinity Road, down to Piedmont Ave. for PearHead's Miller Creek GC1G5ZR & back up to Piemont Ave. Community Recreation Center GCVHXF - but he probably already knew that! (Grin)

I see the gent has 6656 finds as of today, Jan 5, 2009. Go Bobcam Go!

If I were a recount lawyer I would file a contest of Bobcam's numbers. He says in that piece: "I have cached in six states: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota."

I don't think that Bob considers North Dakota to be a state. Laughing

Trust me... his comments about deviating from "The List" in that article are the truth. We drove past one cache in St Louis Park THREE times before finally stopping for it. Can you imagine how many caches he'd have if he planned better than that? (OK, OK... its hard to argue with success)

There are three kinds of people on this earth... those that can count, and those that can't.

Continuing the saga, Bobcam is on vacation in Texas this week. Take a look at what he bit off to chew on:

What a great trail of caches.

We were especially interested in exactly where these were, as our yougest son just moved to Texas last week.

Yippee!!! He's in Plano, just west of the caches. By no stretch of the imagination are we power cachers, but...maybe even we can put up some respectible numbers on a power trail like this.
