I know in the past KB has temporarily made a members-only cache open to all so that people could log them.
Turns out that this is not necessary - a non-member can log a members-only cache.

From what I have heard...read...
It is a known bug that Groundspeak has no intentions of fixing any time soon!!! Even Jeremy poinited it out on a forum post or two in the past (in great detail as well)!!!
