|
Bus and I are heading northwest this weekend to pick up some counties and pages for the KB DeLorme and County Challenges. I've spent a ton of time [including time I should be doing my real job ] looking for a cache in Mahnomen county, but without luck.
Can anyone help? [Forgive me in advance if I am breaking some challenge rule by even asking.]
Thanks - Patty [Betty] |

The only cache in Mohnomen County WAS Up North Multi GCX93Q by Zoejam72. I was the last to find because Zoejam requested that I pull it as the person that was maintaining the cache for them had moved.
What this means is that there isn't a cache in Mohnomen County at this time. |

If Bob and I place a cache in Mahnomen county this weekend, is there any local person who would be willing to adopt it as their own
Thanks,
Bob and Patty |

The first question probably won't get you in trouble.
This one may
SJ frowns upon cache adoption. |

Sorry for the incorrect terminology. We are new at this game and the correct verbiage.
What we would be looking for is not someone to adopt it, but someone to check on it were it to go missing or get wet or something of that nature. We are just too far away to be able to fix anything within a reasonable amount of time.

Hello,
Maybe I am reading the map wrong-but isn't Schantzen Lake GC152QE located in Mahonmen County? |

No, I wish it were, but I'm pretty sure it's Clearwater.
If I'm wrong, let me know, cause I'll be jumping around my office . |

Not true. As long as the adopter is capable of maintaining the cache in a timely matter, all is well. I much prefer B&B's approach, trying to line someone up before the cache is hidden, over the "I'll hide the cache and then hope I can find someone to maintain it for me," approach.
It isn't even necessary for the maintainer to adopt the cache. |

Hooray for GEO06!!!
We'll place the cache, making sure it's very low maintenance, and then send you the details.
Now...on to reading the rules on how to place a cache. This will be our first. |

I would be willing to check on the cache when I go up to Shooting Star Casino (we take in the shows and drop a few coins in the slot)as a backup person. I live a little further away-but sometimes I travel for my company.
I guess I need that county too among other ones. _________________ Summer is too short |

The cache in Mahnomen county was placed last Saturday. It is called "In Memory of..." with an ID of GC17F5V.
Thanks again to geo06 and Former Hawkeye for offering to maintain this cache. It should require very little maintenance.
Sorry it took me so long to post this....our son who lives in CA had an accident and I flew out here for his surgery. |
