Will there be a link on the MNGCA website for people to link to the http://mngca.geocoin.net/ website? Cachers who find these may like an easy link on the MNGCA page to track these or log their find. Maybe this is planned???

Hey GP can you hook this up? |
Yeah, I can add a link to the menu on the front page. |
Added link. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

| Were some of these going to get sent to some of the outstate locations? I am just curious. There was talk of this, but don't remember where the talk ended. Either that or if someone is coming to the Burritos buddies event in hutch if they would bring a few along. I am planning on going to that. Thanks, |
I have #24 I will mail it to ya.

| I know you kindly donated the funds for this and I in no way want to stir it up because the coins are beautiful. But I thought the point of the nickels was to distribute them in caches to draw attention to Minnesota caching and the MNGCA? I ask this sincerely. I grabbed two from the Hutch event and will be placing them this weekend. |

When I look at the Wooden Nickel page there is a "Most Milage" rank. Is this function working? I don't see anything listed there.

Hmm, looks like some kind of mileage bug. Every move is showing up as 0 miles. I'll try and get that fixed. Once I do, everything should clean itself up on its own.

There seem to be some bugs, pardon the pun. Or maybe it's just slow to update.
Compare
000119 (most recent)
to
119 (previous log)
000119 does not show any of the previous actions by Kurt Franke or me. Even though I registered it, it shows "no owner." |

I "preloaded" all the nickels on to the site, to try to make sure things like this did not happen.
I was hoping to have marky modify the code so this site would not allow any "new" tracking numbers for this nickel.
He has not made that change yet.
Normally the tracking numbers are not preloaded on this site.
The tracking site "sees" 000119 and 119 as two separate tracking numbers, since to a computer they are not the same tracking number.
I can go into the database and fix these. I will see if I can get to it this weekend.
This site is not perfect. But well worth the money we pay (the site is free) to have this site track these nickels. Marky volunteers his time, programming skills, website hosting, etc to keep this site running so sometimes it takes a while to get things changed.
Thanks for letting me know about it.
I will bug him about this again.
The site does not validate the input and the computer |

leading Zero's have been removed from the database.
I have a good idea I can fix the leading Zero's problem with a database trigger so there may be a long term solution that does not mess with marky's code (and only pertains to our data) in the works too. |
