| I am going to check my calendar to see what it looks like two weeks from today 01-05-2008. If no more snow falls up there maybe I'll consider it sooner rather than later. |

| This trip is quickly materializing for Monday 01-21-2008 departing Rosemount between 7 and 8AM. I've got room for a couple if you're willing to pitch in for fuel. If you have an interest, I'd need to know NO LATER THAN Friday afternoon. It'll obviously be a trip that takes up the entire day. Bring your own gear and lunch. |

I won't be able to go on this one because I have to work.
However, if another road trip is planned on a weekend (preferably with other caching in the area), I would attempt to go. I work with a daughter-in-law of Alvin and would like to visit the cache. |

At least it will be warm for you on the 21. Thats the first day they are calling for above 0° after the weekend. Think the high is suppose to be 6°. |

A. Meteorologists are never right. I hope they don't get it right this weekend.
B. The right cold weather gear and 0° is nothing. |

if you guys do go, there is a nice trail, (if you choose the right one ), to walk down.
as far as finding the cache, it shouldn't be to hard, just look for the chair!!! .
if ya all have enough people, the walk out will be much better than the walk in. think about switching up point people, (on the way in), and take your time.
as someone said watch your 1st step, and you all should be fine.
Peace,
Joboo |

We were a go and had a nice trip. You can view my log, with pictures, here.
Weather couldn't have been better for this time of year. Warmed up to 6 above, sunshine, ZERO wind.
Snowshoes are a MUST. The snow was easily 24"++ deep in most places. Of course, now there's a path for the next idiot that does the cache in the winter. |

Way to go on the trip and the find, sound like fun. I am headed up there in a few weeks when I am skiing in the BWCA. Do you think the route is skiable?
Or just snowshoes, we are doing some of that too, but for speeds sake I would like to ski it. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

If you stay in the actual phone line clearing, it should be skiable, based strictly on obstacles on the trail. I don't know how well skis float over that much snow. It is very powder like, the opposite of the hard crunchy snow we have locally from the last melt before the deep freeze. |

Sounds good, I will have to keep track of the weather. It is still about a month before I go. Thanks for the info. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |
