If the image is right then they finally made the right choice and put the input device on the top instead of the bottom.

| It sure would be nice if you could actually get a temperature reading from the alleged temp sensor and if they allowed you to store your waypoints on the memory card rather than the fixed memory. My only complain about the 60CSx. |

Why do you like the buttons on top? The reason I like the buttons on the bottom is because you don't have to cover the screen with your hand when you are using the controls. |

Because with the controls on the bottom the device is top heavy. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

For me controls on the top is so that I can do everything one handed. I can grip the GPSR and use my thumb for input. With the controls on the bottom I find I have to hold it with one hand and use the other for the data inputs. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Thus why I said it's top heavy. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Just visited the Garmin booth at the SHOT Show in Vegas.
The Colorado is sweet. Saw it with a cache page etc. Only thing with the wheel and buttons on to is you partially obscure the screen.
The 300 is the base model. The 400t is the topo model meaning the topo software comes with it.
Might be buying one of these. _________________ The trouble with the world is not that people know too little, but that they know so many things that ain't so.

i agree that the colorado does look very, very sweet!!!
i'm a true garmin diehard, i own two, the map 60, and that map 60cs.
my first garmin i owned for 3 or 4 years before i found out about geocaching. i've mapped every single trail i've ever mountain biked, and then some.
then i found geocaching, and the rest they say is history!!
my map 60cs is just for geocaching, or so i'd like to think .
anyway, with that being said, i will wait for the 3dr or 4th generation of the colorado til i purchase one.
just way too many bugs garmin needs to work out before i drop that kind of cach on a new unit.
just my 2 cents...
Peace,
Joboo |

| I talked with a cacher out of MI who bought this unit. He said that it was a nice unit for general outdoors stuff, but he found several geocaching limitations and couldn't recommend it to cachers. One basic flaw he was was they removed the "Found it" option when you are out caching, he also it said it was very difficult to populate caches by hand, (if you have to, I guess for multis). He said that perhaps with an upgrade down the road it would be a better unit, but he returned his. |
