I am not that old but growing up "way up north" we only had 1 channel and that was the Canadian channel. If you didn't like hockey you had best find your self a hobby on the days of hockey night in Canada.
Does anyone know who the Friendly Giant or Mr. Dressup were? |
You bet I do. Being from the Falls you forgot to mention that we got Sesame Street in English/French (rather than English/Spanish), Glen Campbell and Romper Room.
Ah, the days when I WAS THE REMOTE ("Boy, get up there and switch it to channel 3") |
Don't forget The Tommy Hunter show.
Benny Hill was pretty cool though. |

That illness must have affected your head too. Now you're just making up names. _________________ Hmm... |

I have to agree with SB -- the Simpsons are the funniest show on TV.
How can you beat "Streetcar! The Musical" ? When Marge is in a community theater production of "A Streetcar Named Desire?" And the lead actor sings to her:
"Stella, oh Stella,
You make me yell-a,
You put me through heck-a,
STELLA!!!!"
Oh man!! It's been on forever for a reason people! : ) |

So I was feeling bored and wanted something to humor me today.
When I went to the grocery store and paid for my items today, I asked the younger lady at the register if she knew who Roy Rogers was.
Ohh my.... It took me 5 min to try to explain to her who he was. The funniest comment by her was... Does he live around here? Finally I just had to tell her to ask her Dad. |

I like looking at my dad's Roy Rogers comic books (they're still in good shape!)
Dad also has a Howdy Doody marionette w/the box...he doesn't let me see that too often! _________________ You know you're getting old when you look at a beautiful 19-year-old girl and you find yourself thinking, "Gee, I wonder what her mother looks like?" |
