| I am trying to organize a program to do next summer during Maple Grove Days for a Girl Scout Gold Award. I'm looking for any ideas people would have to make the program a success. The main goal will be to introduce people in the community to geocaching. I want to teach them the basics and let them find some temporary caches. Are there any other ideas? I will also be needing geocachers to help me at the program to make things run smooth, but I will do that when it gets closer to the program date. |

| Since it is a part of Maple Grove Days I would suggest talking to some people who know allot about the history of Maple Grove (Historical society personnel etc). You could place your temp caches in historical points of interest within Maple Grove. You could place brochures, which you have made about the history of each place visited, in each temp cache. I think this would provide a fun and educational twist to your project. If you make them good enough I would even suggest having them published on geocaching.com (submit them so they become active on the first day of the celebration) and enjoy the comments of satisfied geocachers for the months to come. |
