Breakfast Buddies is January 27 in Richfield. You might get a better turnout if you pick a different weekend. _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

I'll see what I can do.
That's pretty close to the hunt for me though, but by then it should be over. |

You're up next Kurt.
After Kurt it is open for someone else to host or I can do it again too.
If someone would like to host just post it here.

Sorry again I couldn't make it, I really wanted to.
Crazy thing about it is my sister lives in central MN, so she drives down here for a visit the same day I coulda been in central MN for an event. Ironic eh?
I'll do my best to attend the next one though. |

If it closer to St. Cloud-I would drive down. Mille Lacs Lake area is just a little out of my driving range especially in the cold winter. _________________ Summer is too short |

Any interest in hosting another in the series of Buritto Buddies events?
The previous events have been well attended and well recieved. It doesn't take much work to set one up.
merkman? Anybody?

I was hoping we could get one set up west (west, southwest, or northwest) of St Cloud this time.
Maybe FormerHawkeye, Loneeagle, msrubble, or some one out that way may be able to set it up.
If they can't I can set one up between Cambridge and St Cloud. As long as I know the "firefighters" schedule.
If I can make it I will be there cause they are a great time!!!

Does this place work for everyone.
I don't know anything about it other than it came up on a goggle search.
It may be closer for former hawkeye and loneeagle_24

May 15, 2006 A wonderful Mexican experience...in Minnesota!
By a Yahoo! Local user
My family and I had brunch at the El Portal on Mother's Day. We were warmly welcomed at the door and were really treated like "family" throughout the meal. The food was fantastic. I would definitely recommend what we had ordered, a combination plate of a steak taco, empenada and chicken enchilada, and the ribeye tacos. The meals are served with warm chips and 2 kinds of homemade salsas, and soup is served before the entrees. A special "tres leches" cake was served after the meal for the mothers. The owner explained that his wife had adjusted the recipe many times until she had perfected it...it was wonderful. We also noticed, as we left, that there was a Mother's Day special of surf and turf--breaded, fried shrimp and grilled or broiled steak that was displayed on a platter as you come in the door that looked great for $15.
The El Portal also serves breakfast dishes. They had a Cinco de Mayo party recently, which, according to the owners, was a great success. If my limited Spanish serves me correctly, there was a sign posted that announced dancing on Saturday nights.
This restaurant is truly a diamond in the rough. It was definitely worth our 30 minute drive to experience the warm hospitality and fantastic food that this family offers. Try it--you won't be disappointed.

El Portal is the best!
I have eaten there many times. It is one of my favorite experiences, authentic mexican food, in Central MN.
I was hoping to hold an enent there, but afraid it was too far for some. Far for some is close for others though!
El Portal es fantastico.
