I'm actually pretty interested in this. My brother's in Seattle, and I love to read his logs everyday, but the current method for doing that is cumbersome. I'm also hoping to be able to read about his DNFs as well as his finds. He tells me he has no DNFs, but I don't believe him.

I see the same for you, and less finds. Smile

I know plenty of people that refuse to log a DNF. Lamers Wink

I can think of one use for it. See below.

I don't think GP will be saying that after he makes the GSA one of his friends.

Ok, so it might be good for one thing. But I don't think the GSA would accept any friends requests. Smile

That's a fairly common setup for websites. It's nothing but a CPU/bandwidth hog and an unnecessary feature. KISS.

I occasionally want to do this.. If I go on a trip with someone, I want to see his logs on the caches we did. But I hope you can turn it on and off. I don't want to get email every time someone I know logs a cache.

Also, what's the deal with the little box telling me what kind of cache I just logged?

I think I know what you mean. It used to be there just for Earthcaches, but now it's there for all the types.

I don't much care for the new way they handle images. The little windup thingy is very annoying and it's slow, even on broadband. What I really liked before was that you could just hover over the image icon and see the photo, rather than having to click on it.

I don't if it's flash or shockwave or what, but it is so unnecessary. that said, I won't lose any sleep over any of their changes.

Somehow I missed the 'windup thingy'. Where does that happen?

It's possible, depending on installed software/OS you might not see it.

I guess I remember the 'hover over' thing a while back, but I had added some Java scripts and that part must have disappeared without ever noticing.

Do the new 'features' give three map links just below the coordinates on a cache page?

I hope the "Friends" thing is a precursor to a feature I've long been hoping for...the ability to pull a query of caches that haven't been found by me and any other cacher(s) that I select. Now something like that sure would be useful if a buddy called and wanted to go caching that same afternoon, wouldn't it?

On the flip side, I got a good laugh out of it asking if I wanted the person to be my friend or not. Kinda feels like third grade all over again! Smile
