|
|
I tried searching the forum to see if anyone had previously posted this and didn't find anything, sorry if it's a duplicate.
Found a nice little tool (for those of you that are OBSESSED with the google toolbar) for doing a quick search of caches by zipcode, waypoint, or keyword.
The Geocaching IE Toolbar: http://216.202.195.127/toolbar.html
After installation, click View -> Explorer Bar -> Geocaching.com search and at the bottom of your screen will appear the search bar.
Works well and keeps me from having to do too much to search for a quick cache.
Enjoy,

How do I uninstall this? It is going to become non-functional, I guess. _________________ Joined: 16 Dec 2002

How is it going to become non-functional? He's got an update on his site that allows it to work if his IP changes. You just have to upgrade it.

| It downloads and then installs the .reg files but there is nothing in the explorer bar of the view menu. What am I doing wrong? This is something I would use quite a bit. |

I will look at it at work (where I have it installed) but I think you have to enable it from teh View->Toolbars menu.

| I tried enabling it from the toolbars customize option before posting previous note but it's just no where to be seen. Maybe I have to restart my computer? |

I doubt that restarting is necessary but perhaps? I just clicked the file and followed Fuzzy's directions and it worked...
I'd have to look at it at work on Monday, sorry.

To install it, just download it, unzip it, and double-click the .reg file to add the entries to your registry. Restart IE, select "Explorer Bar" from the "View" menu, and turn on "Geocaching.com search".
I got it. I guess it helps to read everything. _________________ Joined: 16 Dec 2002

| After I restarted my computer, the geocaching.com was available under the view menu. Simple but it worked! Thanks Silent Bob for the cool link. |

Sorry I wasn't of more help. I was BEAT last night after that LONG day. Glad that you like it. I love using that toolbar. It really makes life easier when you want to do a quick lookup without having to go to GC.com first.
Enjoy,

Some of us prefer not to have to fool around with settings and dealing with websites that don't conform to the standards. At least with a browser that also ignores standards I can view those pages without distortion
