A buddy and I are working on making maps of the newest caches placed. We grew tired of waiting for gc.com and its band of wanna-be programmer(s) to come up with something.

Right now, its in alpha-state. The maps show the most recent 40 caches placed in a city. You can see where we are heading with this:

There are a few bugs in centering the maps, and the HTML isn't pretty (and may never be ). I plan on shortening the map labels to reduce the clutter and marking the unfound caches with green pushpins.

These will be updated everyday in the wee hours.

I should mention that I am showing new subscriber-only caches on the maps. If you can find a King Boreas cache from just the pushpin, more power to ya. But if King Boreas wants me to take those off, I can.

I've decided not to intentionally hunt subscriber-only caches anymore, even though I can see them, for a number of reasons. [Sometimes we hunt them by mistake, tho] But I think it worthwhile to acknowledge their existance. Not to encourage GC membership, but to encourage KB to make them available to all, even if they are perceived to be or actually are attacked by muggles. Its just a shame for these to not be available to all.

In the end, I feel that having two classes of caches is not right for this sport, whatever the cost. But I will respect KBs wishes in this regard. If he says take em off the maps, I will.
