When planning an event of this size you should consider what other attractions will help "sell" your area. There are several hotel and convention facilities within earshot of the MOA and that alone will tempt people to make the pilgrimage. Our metro area has good cache density, light rail access to downtown, major sports teams, concert venues, etc. _________________ When Re-Inventing the Wheel ... Think Rounder |

By all means add a post to the national forums that show these things off. If more of us post on the national forums that Minnesota is a good choice for them, it will show the level of support they have to hosting a large event in Minnesota.
I think KC0GRN had some fine posts that added allot of validity to the request, by showing that others in Minnesota felt that Minnesota is a good location. |

| Maybe add something about the beautiful weather at that tie of the year. Also, a reminder that Hurricanes are a threat to any venue in the south at that timeof the year. |

And thanks King Boreas for posting.
There's a few cachers pulling for Alabama or Chicago, but I think if we had more locals posting on the national forums showing some support, we'd have just as a good of a chance at getting selected. |

| Just FYI keep an eye on what date they're looking at in 08 in relation to the RNC Convention coming to town... if the two are close good luck getting a hotel room this side of Des Moines! |

I looks like they are deciding to have micro coin events in multiple places throughout the world on the same day.
I am less into this idea, but we could still be a part of it if there is interest?

Two of my most favorite things:
1. Micro events
2. Coins
Sorry, but I just couldn't get excited over the idea of that. If it was an actual event that was pretty much centered around coins I might still be persuaded to attend but a "micro event", absolutely not. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I heard about micro events at the last WeekNIGHT.. I think they're a really cool idea. Not sure if it would be fun in practice.

What if GEM hosted it in an Anoka County park?

What exactly is the difference between an event and a 'micro event'? _________________ Hmm... |

A "micro event" might only last for 15 minutes. Example: you meet in a parking lot at a scheduled time, stare at your watch for 15 minutes, and leave.
You have now earned another number. Congratulations. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |
