As the official Operations Officer of the MnGCA Team here is the basic information you need to know if you are traveling with the Team convoy either down or back. For security reasons, I don't plan on posting travel or lodging information on the forum.

Day 1 (22 Mar 07)

Day 5 (26 Mar 07)
Depart approximately sunrise.
Cache along route

Arrive breakout point (Minneapolis) approximately 1800 hrs.

Class 1 (Rations) During Movement Individual Responsibility, At Bivouac Cooky has lead.
Class 2 (Clothing) Individual Responsibility – Wet, cold, dry, warm. You Pick.
Class 3 (Fuels) Will be acquired as necessary.
Class 4 (Construction Materials) – None Required
Class 5 (Weapons and Ammunition) – Prohibited for this exercise
Class 6 (Alcohols) – Individual Preferences
Class 7 (End Items) – Vehicles as identified above.
Class 8 (Medical Supplies) – Better not need them this year. Esko and Cooky this means you two!
Class 9 (Repair Parts) – If you need them you fund them!

For those of you that intend to be part of the main convoy please IM me your e-mail address and I will provide secured communications of the plans. Determine who your pairings are going to be as the hotels contain two double beds both going and returning. Hotels are approximately $58 each. I know that the team of Towlebooth and Jillibean plan to go down with the team but not return with the team.

Generally we don’t have any type of get together before departing so make your contacts, make your plans and let me know so I can keep track.

Arcticabn
Team MnGCA Operations Officer

All, I would really appreciate keeping this thread clean without all of the smart (edited for language) comments.

Gilby PM me if you have questions!

I will be travelling solo on the way down and not caching with the rest of the company due to work. I will likely arrive at the primitave bivouac site around dusk, depending on how my caching goes on the way there. I will be relying on our MVP for all meals that he is planning on providing. It is also likely that I will not be travelling with the company on the return voyage.

Just bustin your chops a little bit, sorry.

Seriously though, thank you for all the time that you put into the route and planning.

No questions, just a comment. I too will be driving down, probably leaving a little later in the morning on Thursday, and trying to catch up with the group somewhere down the road.

To let you know what I am thinking, plans not yet in cement.

I am looking at driving and leaving MN on 3/21, caching my way to Central MO. Early on I had reserved a room at the Monroe Inn instead of a campsite. Cache at MOGA for 3/23-25, and then heading out.

My mom and brother both live in MO. Hoping to head out to see them afterwards. I am on 2 weeks of vacation, MOGA being a part of that.

I would like to be included in as much of this MNGCA stuff a possible. Thanks for the planning and keeping me in mind. I will email Arcticabn soon with more definite plans.

Kurt

Just curious if all the caravan traveling Mogans are staying at the same Prestated Bivouac Site on Day 1 in Mizzou.

Due to FREE accomodations, I am planning on staying about a half mile down the path. Does anyone have any issues with this?

I don't as long as you leave us at the hotel. And pick us up the next morning!

May I suggest that if someone makes stickers for the logbooks this year (which was a good idea) that you get all the names spelled correct?

Very Happy

To many names, it will just read Team MnGCA. Shocked

And nobody ever accused this Grunt of being able to spell without making a misteak. Razz

Whatever Articabn.

In my logs on the way down I'll include all the names so when you log later you can just do Team MnGCA.
