Please explain this a little better. I like some of this idea; however, I just can't get my head around the full idea. |

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day to submit ideas for the new cache game.

We've begun discussion on it. It could be a quick/short discussion or it could get drawn out. I'll try and keep you updated.
The board had been planning on a board meeting last Friday in which case we probably would have had it hashed out in one day. The storm made us reschedule it so now the process will take a bit longer as we don't communicate quite as fast via PC. _________________ Hmm... |

| Thank you but I already have one. If you have one too I would take it and get it to RJ, otherwise keep it for yourself. |

The board has decided to move forward with merkman's idea (from the bottom of page 1 of this thread). Merkman has volunteered to do a large amount of the work (THANKS) in getting the game off the ground.
Thanks also to everyone who contributed ideas - the turnout was much better than I had imagined it would be.
We'll try and keep everyone informed about the progress of the creation of the game. _________________ Hmm... |

Was just curious if there was an update on where the new games status is? I know it's a lot of work, and thank those that are involved with it. I am just curious as it's been about four months now since I have seen an update to this topic. An update would be nice. Thanks, _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

I spoke with our volunteer developer about it at the spring event. Development is stalled while real life events get in the way. He is anxious to get it going though I know, so hopefully it will be back on track soon (if it's not already). _________________ Hmm... |

I am still coding away at it.
The major hurdles of coding the application have been overcome, tested and proven to work.
1) Me learning php and getting more familiar with mysql
2) Creating the database
3) Mechanics of interfacing with the database
4) Interface to the e-mail system
5) Interface to Google maps
I will put these pieces together and make them in to a first draft of the application in the coming weeks.
Once the application is tested and proven we can move on to acquiring the trackables.
Once we design, find funding, and have the trackables made we will be ready to release the game.
I am shooting for the spring event for this.
I hope this helps. |

Good luck merkman. It is great that you are taking the bull by the horns. I feel for you on finding the time. It is worth it though when you have something that people use.
