A few new items to share:
-- Milestones have returned to the front page! To appear in the list you must have registered for the site or joined the MnGCA. Milestone self-service is coming soon for MnGCA members.

-- I've split the events into several categories.

-- Archive pages for the event categories and cacher milestones.

-- Slightly updated look.

-- A maintenance area for site admins and content editors. Now Silent Bob can add meetings, articles, events, and milestones. Two heads are better than one. . .

MnGCA members can now add their own milestones! To do so log in and then go to your cacher page:

http://www.mngca.org/cacher.php

There is a link to this page on the welcome page you are taken to after a successful login. You can also get there by clicking on your name at the top-right of the front page or anywhere you see it as a link - Laker game, milestone list, etc.

Concerning the milestone list, three ideas:

Replace "Finds" and "Moves" with a hyphen.

Replace "travelbugs" with "bugs."

Replace "geocaches" with "caches."

It would make it a lot less wordy, and it removes the problem with caching names that are plural.

A suggestion for consideration:

Make the fact that membership to the MNGCA is free a little more prominent. Perhaps something in the top article on the main page... Or "Join/Register (free)" on the left-hand bar?

I think that a lot of times when people see membership they think $$ and don't stick around long. In an effort to attract cachers to the organization and the site, it may be worth putting something in there that lets them know it's not going to affect their pocketbook.

Right now the word free isn't used until you try to create an account.

Just a suggestion. Take it or leave it. No hard feelings either way. Smile

If you are a registered MnGCA Member, on your cacher page you will see a "Members Only Section". Under this section there will be a link to the 2005 MnGCA Board Meeting Minutes.

Please note that the Member's Only Section is only accessable if you are logged-in to your website account and if you are a registered MnGCA member.

I have done some minor modifications to the forum software in order to bring in your user information from the website.

If you have an MnGCA.org user account and if your username there is the same as the Forum you will now have your membership status displayed on the forum.

For most users you will now see "MnGCA Member", "Cache Games Only", or "Geocacher". Some users (past and current Board members) will continue to display "MnGCA Board" or "Past MnGCA Board" in recognition of their service to the organization.

If your usernames don't match or you don't have an MnGCA.org website account then the "Geocacher" default will be displayed. If you would like changes to be made to the database to make the two accounts the same please let me know. If you don't have an account with us already please register for one at http://www.mngca.org/register.php

In addition to the changes listed above, if you are a registered MnGCA member you will now have a link to your cacher page from Forum posts. Right above your rank (MnGCA Member, etc) you will find your name underlined and linking back to your cacher page.
