I'd like to create a map of Minnesota Counties, similar to what KC0GRN has on his geocaching.com profile page:
I sent him a note asking how he did that but I thought I'd also ask the larger group here.
I'd like to create something like this for my MN finds and I'm also planning a TB with a goal of visiting all the MN counties and would like to create a map for that as well.
I thought about using photoshop to just color in the counties but I haven't round a decent basemap for that yet. |

You're looking for the Map Maker Utility.
Have fun. |

This will give us a new goal...trying to color in the rest of the counties, something the kids can get some visual feedback from. |

I like this map...big, clean, easy to read. I may try photoshoping this and seeing which map I like better. Thanks! |

http://www.itsnotaboutthenumbers.com has a cool map you can use too. (you need to be a pro member on GC to get the All my finds GPX file).
load your gpx file and then in the results click on the "US Counties Map" link, then click on Minnesota in the results set.
it looks like this:

| I'm already thinking about how I could optimize my route for maximum efficiency. I may have to take off with my daughter for a day and see if I can clean up the bottom of the state this weekend. |

OK, so I finally checked out the link and that is very cool. I never realized that I've only got a 6 day in a row consecutive finding...and I thought that my fest hiatus was longer than that, but I guess not. I'm really liking that site...and it's got the county map really cool too.
I figure I'll accept the challenge once I start to fill out more of the map...maybe I'll see about getting some others to wander along on a trip or something

Umm, be sure your units are set to metric and then turn the nob on the left clockwise for 3 turns. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."
