Mine worked OK, but at first it said 19 of my caches had uncalculated counties.. I waited a little bit and then it figured most of them out. I had to do the last 3 manually because they were puzzle caches with posted coords in Lake Superior. |

I was really thinking that with 1750+ finds in MN that I would have more counties done. It's not like I concentrate on metro only caches.
Guess I need to start doing some more elsewhere -- although I'm not at all interested in the Delorme caches. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Hey, does anyone know of a national version of a county map (i.e. a utility that shades in counties rather than states across the US?)
It doesn't seem fair to pick up one cache in a state and get the whole state filled in (although I did that for Illinois and Indiana this past week - it does make a nice looking map...) |

You mean like this: http://www.itsnotaboutthenumbers.com/county_map.php
The program above does.... |

The same place will do it. Instead of clicking on the state, click on "Full US Map" at the top of the state list.

I guess it depends on the goal you are using. If you are doing a state goal then it works, if you are doing a county by county cache then that's different. |

I've found that it really takes a bundle of work to get yourself out to all those other counties. A bundle of work, and a bundle of driving. All that driving adds up to time not caching.
I have found caches in all 87 MN counties, but there were many times when I wished I'd just stayed in one place and found a dozen caches rather than driving 60 miles for one.

Wow - this is a great case of "be careful what you ask for" - so many counties - so few filled-in spaces!
You right camo-cacher, I'm going to stick with 'get the states' maps for now, much more satifying.
But thank for pointing me to this neat utility, very cool! |

Tony,
At least you got to see areas of the state that many many others will not. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |
