Nice choice on parks. Wonder if buzzygirl could arrange for the observatory to be open?

She can be pretty busy at times, but at least there's a good bit of time before the event.

If your planning on attending please post your intent to attend on the GC.com page please. We're trying to get a headcount.

Thanks,

Hi folks,

Sorry I've been out of touch on the forum for awhile... I have been too busy to do much caching since, like, last spring (crud). However, I will check on the availability of the observatory for the fall event, and I'll post something toot-suite.

The observatory has acquired over $100,000 worth of new equipment in the past 8 months, and I am anxious to show it off.

Jackie

Okay, I checked the observatory schedule, and no one's got it reserved on October 7, neither is it a public event night...so I believe the MnGCA is good to go with your evening event.

I'll try to get at least one other MAS member to be on hand (I will need help opening the roof) and we'll do our best to show you some wonderful objects in the night sky. We've added some excellent imaging equipment and LCD screens that allow us to show what's in the scopes to larger groups of people.

Let's hope for clear skies on 10/7!!

The weather is supposed to be very nice on Saturday (in the high 70's, last I heard) but I'm not sure if the night will be clear or cloudy. Unless it's really raining, we will have someone at the Onan Observatory for sure. I can always give tours with the roof closed, if need be, but I'm truly hoping for clear skies that night.

There will be a full Moon-- which will somewhat limit which deep-sky objects will be easily visible-- but there will be lots of cool stuff to look at, as long as it's clear.

See you all then!

OK, I've figured out that Pear Head exists, and was elected President. Congratulations Matt.

None of the other results have been listed. The candidates were never revealed. If this is required by law or regulation, or rule or whatever, then I accept that. If this was a voluntary action by the previous board, the I hope the new one is more "open"

Congratulations to the other board members, whoever you may be.
