As was promised to a few at the Spring Picnic and on line, when the time came the first announcement would be made here.
I am in the final stages of designing my personal geocoin. I am designing it to celebrate my 4000th find.
Below is the artist rendering of the coin.
Here's some of the details.
Coin material will be shiny gold.
1.5" Diameter 3.5mm thick
Front
Rim color is Maroon with the shiny gold letters raised in the enamel.
The paratrooper and parachute will be various shades of green on the Red, White and Blue Flag Background. I didn't want the image to be landing directly on the flag so the ground is two tone tan.
Back
Rim color is Maroon (Color of a Paratrooper's Beret)
Lettering is raised shiny gold.
The world is raised gold with blue enamel for the ocean. The rest of the fill is black.
The inside text represents my 1st and my 4000th cache finds.
The coin will be trackable on GC.com but WILL NOT have it's own icon.
The coins will not be individually serial numbered, they will only have the GC.com tracking number.
Minting Run - 100 coins
Tentative Price:
To MnGCA $8.50
GC.com $9.50 (probably)
Price will include shipping.
My goal: Sell 80 coins to recoup my costs which leaves me 20 coins which I can either release into the wild or give away. So other then paying for the coins I will release there is no profit. But if sales are quick on GC.com I may go for a second minting in which I would make a small profit. Just being honest.
When will it happen? Well I plan to hit my 4000th find while in Alaska at the end of July. The order for the coin would go in upon my return around the first week of August. Why wait? Well what if I don't find the waypoint I have on the coin? So in the event I DNF it, I can change the waypoint. I will find my 4000th cache in Alaska. Count on it! _________________ Airborne All the Way!

Sorry but I can swing the capital for 500 coins. And I'm not going to presale them. So if you want to buy 400, I'll foot the bill for the icon? _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Thanks SB, didn't catch it. It's correct on the data I sent him. It will be fixed before the coin goes to mint. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

Now now Dave...
I haven't looked at your profile in over a month I'd guess. It is probably even longer, but for the sake of this discussion, we'll go with a month... You, however, like to look at my profile much more often than that:
Twice in June, four times in May, three times in April, once in February, once in Jan, and twice in December. I am not even counting how many times you access it from work because I'm too lazy. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

That's cooler than the paper version you showed me at the event. I'll of course need to buy one (psst, I'll take coin #42 if it exists ) _________________ The Lucid Network (tm)-- More Bars in More Places! |
