I'd say it's as dangerous as whoever sets up the "event" makes it...
personally, I'd hope/guess it would be OK for people with limited experience in kayak (but not NO experience) would be OK...meaning no high class rapids
I say hope since I'd be one of the ones with a rental, and my one whitewater experience in kayak's had me realizing that eskimo rolls are a LOT harder in a moving river than in calm water...that and I go really far downstream upside down
then again, if we went kayak/canoe I can handle decent rapids in canoe with at least one other experienced person...so either or...

<edit to add> I would hope it's not a "teach how to kayak" event right away, since I'd rather do some quick cache's...plus that would probably be harder to get anyone to set up </edit> |
