FWIW, my WeekNIGHT caching is probably done until next fall. My caching always falls way off this time of year as other activities ('yakin'!) take over. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

Little league games have taken over my Wednesday nights for now when I'm in town. I don't see why you really couldn't do both, though. So what if only 2 or 3 show up? To me, the fun is hanging out, caching, and refreshments afterwards (not necessarily in that order, of course). If they're gettin set up and I can make it, then I'll be there. If it's my turn to set one up and I'm the only one to show, then I'm off by myself. That's the beauty of our little hobby, we make up the rules as we go! Well, most of the rules anyway...
Z, I'd say set up the WeekBikes for whoever wants to go and have a good time! _________________ I feel the need! The need for speed! |

Off-topic conversation about a possible kayaking excursion moved to group kayaking excursion? as requested.
Sounds like fun. _________________ ...formerly 'dachebo'. |

WeekNight was originally a winter thing becaust of the after dark fun to caching. As well as during the summer months many of us had other after work activities (mowing the lawn, other sports, kids etc.) that don't take up the time in the winter. WeekNight was also oriented around one or two finds and then off to socialize. I don't see you doing a WeekBike night to go find one cache and then bike to the bar.
IMO you can do both. Neither have a requirement for a large turn-out and can always be cancelled if there is not enough committment on line. I think that we have been pretty good about stating whether we can or can not make it. There's nothing stopping any of us from posting just as you have already done for a different night meet to go caching. That's what our forums are all about: communication. I just wouldn't expect the same type of turn out as in the winter months. |
I'll second AA's opinion. Whoever wants to, post WeekBIKE and/or WeekNIGHT, see who RSVP's and/or shows up, and if you find yourself alone at the meeting place, go ahead and solo-cache. I have a feeling WeekNIGHT will diminish or die off through its own evolution this spring/summer, and then come fall/winter, people will be itching for it again. |
