Are you sitting on a "stolen" jeep??
Why?
I see no use for one on my shelf....but I'm wondering what others have to say. |

I logged a note on the jeep just to get into my icon stats.....(why I don't know)...but now I can't get it off even if I try to delete the note.
oh well...I confessed. |

I admit that I had heald on to a jeep for 3 months, but I was just looking for a really good cache to put it in.
All my jeeps are back out in the wild! |

Having moved 18 white jeeps, at one point I held several at the same time. The reason being, I like to put white jeeps into new caches as a reward and an incentive for the FTF.
I currently hold no jeeps (already logged one into Breakfast Buddies Richfield then its going to Jrest), and I have no intentions of keeping a jeep as a souvenir. If I wanted a little toy jeep bad enough, I could run down to Target and buy one for two bucks.
Here is the way I see it; Once the contest is over, holding the jeeps for an extended period hurts no one, as long as you DO release it at some point. There is no "TB Owner" that is missing out on the jeep not being moved. However, when the contest was going, I tried to move them as fast as possible, so that other cachers could enter the contest.
Sorry if this viewpoint is not shared by others. Please respond with a counter point so that I see it from another perspective. _________________ "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods..." - Lord Byron |

I have not seen a White jeep TB, in person. I saw many "dropped" into caches- only to run out, and find nothing. During the contest, after the contest was over- Alot of that goes on. . . .
Back to the Yellow jeeps same thing.
I gave up caring when I realized how things were going to work with the whole Jeep promotion/gc.com/distribution.etc.
It is sad tho, that something so relativley easy could become such a screwed up thing. |

I dropped one of each in California last week. _________________ "The best way to defeat the totalitarian of hate is with an ideology of hope -- an ideology of hate -- excuse me --with an ideology of hope." --George W. Bush, Fort Benning, Ga., Jan. 11, 2007 |

| I have about 5 White Jeep codes for ones that disappeared. If anyone wants to buy a jeep at Walmart ($1.97) and tag it, let me know. |

I'm amazed at the stats so far.....
Part of this wondering is why some cachers have more than 1 in there "hands".
than why have all these gone missing???
are they getting stolen by muggles???
I'm wondering how a JEEP size travel bug can go missing in a backpack or lost under some fastfood garbage in your back seat of your car. |

How many are missing?
I logged a couple yellow and one white, just to get the icon, and quickly moved them on. Had no reason to want any more than that. _________________ ...formerly 'dachebo'. |

Plain and simple, people (cachers) are stealing them. This is why I only put them into brand new caches. At least this way, I can hope for hardcore cachers to try and get them while competing for a FTF. _________________ "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods..." - Lord Byron |

Wow, the yellow jeeps are interesting...it's easy to see the ones still in circulation as well as the ones that went MIA or into collections right away. Not as easy with the White Jeeps (two year difference in logging is easier to spot than one year), but still interesting to see the "unknown" locations.
I'm still confused as to why someone would collect them, but then again, I'm easily confused
