Just curious, Is anyone else as completely jacked up for this as I am? Or am I just that much of a dork? Oh oh, way too loaded of a question!

Jambro, were you going to have the coordinates on a laptop for people to download, or are we thumbing them into our GPSr's?

From my initial post:

"My idea is to have 7 caches that will not be loggable, and the only thing in the caches will be envelopes with cards."

Since they're not loggable, they probably won't be on gc.com. Does this answer your question????

Jeez, Garmin users...

I'm just guessing, as a non-participant, that even though they aren't loggable that folks will still want to enter the coordinates into their GPS so that they can locate the containers (that aren't loggable).

Perhaps a .loc file published shortly before the event?

That's so loaded even I can't stoop that low to take the shot Laughing

But yeah, I'm looking forward to this one too, and the funniest part is we just need to find the 7 and whatever else we feel like...its not even a race but kinda feels like it right now Smile

Although I am amused by the number of bug drops and only a couple in there right now Wink

Not from me. I have no idea if someone else wants to, but all participants are getting is a piece of paper with coords on it. Everyone but Celtic, that is, he's getting a blank piece of paper...

That should be Lucid, not Celtic. Celtic can't find caches anyway.

Celtic, don't sweat the loc file, I'll have you covered..I'll just entere them into easyGPS by hand (should only take a minute or so) and then we can all download them to our GPS's.

I'm entirely opposed to the idea of keeping waypoints from Lucid at events!

Hey everyone - We are finalized, looks like 43 for the poker run and 44 for dinner. I'll be at the meet site around 11:45 tomorrow, we'll hand out the rules and brief around 12, then I'll stick around until probably 12:30 or so for stragglers. If you have any problems or need to get ahold of me, I'll have my cell phone with, the number is 651-792-5817. That number will also be on the rules sheet. Weather report says it's going to be a great day for caching! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Well, just so you could have a little bit of a FTF race I put out a new cache in the area.

Good luck

I was eyeing that hoping everyone had already loaded up their waypoints and missed it Smile Just making more competition for me, aren't you? Cool

Just did a quick look for any new caches in the area, picked up on that one, but don't think I will be anywhere near it first, but plan on giving it a look. Looking forward to the day.

Nice event, and a cool idea for one. Congrats to the prize winners, and thanks for setting this up jambro!

Oh, and btw, just some more justification as to why I was a little late to the event. I found "Birch Tree" the disabled cache in nearby Locke Park. It's been missing since November, but I found it on the ground! Just goes to show ya, don't always discount a disabled cache.

jambro, in addition to hosting one of the best events I've been to in a while, was kind enough to write up an article for the front page about it. Check it out here: http://www.mngca.org/articles.php?strArtType=9&strArtID=131
