[Marsha and Silent Bob]

On December 19th, 2005 the MnGCA Board met with three members of the Minnesota DNR staff for a preliminary meeting about getting physical geocaches back into Minnesota State Parks. Arcticabn, Paklid, Pear Head, and Silent Bob were in attendance for the MnGCA. The Minnesota DNR had their DNR Parks and Recreation Director, their Resource Management Coordinator, and their Park Operations Coordinator in attendance.

The meeting was nearly two hours long and gave an opportunity for the DNR to learn of some of the changes that have occurred in geocaching since its inception in 2001, to meet some members of the MnGCA face to face, and it gave the DNR an opportunity to list out some of their issues with hosting physical geocaches on their lands.

The MnGCA Board feels that the general tone and final outcome of this preliminary meeting was positive. Courtland Nelson asked that we work to setup another meeting with them to be held in late January which will be time to show the DNR more of what the MnGCA would like to see.
