We haven't had a post since 4-13-2005. That's got to be some sort of record? Can't blame it all on the weather, now can we? If nothing else I hope everyone has a great Christmas. JK _________________ "I'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together" -Red Green |

I am when I drive through the St. Cloud area on the way to the cities. What is the easiest cache near I-94 to take non-geocachers on? I want to get my van full (4 others) interested and I think success is needed.
We will be heading to Mpls on Friday March 3rd going to a convention at the Doubletree near highway 100 (the old belt line road).
Thanks in advance for help!!!! _________________ Summer is too short |

One of the caches off I94 that I would look at is called Over the Bridge and Through the Woods (GCNCKH) . It's in the woods at Saint John's University. Are you familiar with the walking footbridge over I94? You will need to take the Saint John's University exit, turn left over the Interstate and take the frontage road to the north, Collegeville Road. Follow this to Old Collegeville Road and take a right. This will lead you to footbridge and you are on your way.
Another accessable one might be Down by the Riverside II (GCR7Z7) . It's past Saint Cloud at the Clearwater exit. Head north through town, cross the Mississippi River and find the cache.
Either one of these should be easy enough to find, if it doesn't snow this week. Looks like they have had some activity lately.
Good luck with your newbie buddies.

There seems to be more and more caches all the time in central MN....I would guess that forum activity will eventully increase... If there was enough "cache saturation" in a neutral area......it would be fun to organize a "group caching get-together" sometime......kind of like the metro group doing "weeknight caching"
I don't think it is feasable presently...but who knows??
just thinking out loud

The easiest way to get people to gather in an area is to create an event and get it approved on gc.com. It can't be an event where you 'all go out and cache', but it can be a meet and greet. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, maybe all just gather for a dinner sometime.
Look at my gc.com profile if you like - I've done a number of them in Duluth. The last one we obtained access to a conference room at WITC and ordered pizzas. _________________ Hmm... |

| How many would be interested in the Cambridge Isanti Princeton St Cloud Area. We may be able to meet at K-Bobs in Princeton on a weekend morning if there were interest? I would be willing to set that up if there were at least 2 people interested. Let me know. I drove to Coon Rapids to meet Kurt Franke one morning. I still haven't met RINO SHAWN or Hunts2much yet. |

If you had an event in St. Cloud on a Saturday-I would be very tempted to drive down. The traffic is much easier to handled than the cities. _________________ Summer is too short |

I have attended a couple of event caches down in the Cities. One was the big King Boreas 1000 Hide event and the other the regular Breakfast Buddy event. I have been trying to get down for the Weeknight Cache but haven't been able to yet.
I was looking at scheduling an event for Saint Cloud. What would you think about Saturday December 2nd. We could hold it at the Country Buffet as they do in the Cities.
It would be great to see who the cachers were in Central MN.

Actually, I would rather hold an evening event at Bravo Burrito's.
If people are coming to the area to meet, eat and cache I suppose a breakfast event is better.
