| Thanks John. One question. Is it, place cache and register, or register-get approval and then place cache |

It is best to register first, then place cache. If a park already has its limit of caches when you register, then you will need to pick a new location. That is easier to do before you place a cache.

John,
It was nice to see you at Long Lake yesterday. (He really gets out there !)
I decided to mail my registrations in, instead of e-mail. You should receive them next week.
Do virtual caches count in the number of allowed caches per park? Does the distance requirement (.5 mile) apply to virtuals? Can a virtual cache be .2 miles from a physical cache? I think I know the answers, but just wanted to check. _________________ Joined: 16 Dec 2002

For the time being virtual caches count for the park density. If there is a super site that you feel strongly about then contact me. The .5 mile distance does apply.
Currently there are only 11 registered caches. There is room for 31. The only parks that are full are Battle Creek, Turtle Creek and White Bear Lake. _________________ John Moriarty

No, individuals are limited to 2 caches per park. You could place a new one at Tony Schmidt. _________________ John Moriarty

KB: The limits on the number of caches per park were removed in the spring of 2006. I informed the McGCA president of the change. The 0.5 mile limit has not changed. The current Ramsey County rules are on our website.
There had only been 3 registered caches in Battle Creek prior to the recent one. There is one unregistered cache, which I have not had the time to remove.
The unregistered sites have stopped, now the SurferJoe is doing the approvals.

The URL changed about 6 months ago, I think. New URL:

I live near battle creek, and would be happy to assist if that's okay. |
