Is there an easy way to pull a list of caches along a route? For example you are traveling through a couple of states and you only want to find caches that are close to your route. I know a lot of people do that, but how?

In a few days you will be able to have an easier time doing that. But as for a completely "easy" way, no, you normally have to pull GPXs along your route manually and then use a piece of software (gpsbabel with rectangle filters, Streets and Trips, or that GPSbabel frontend that everyone raves about) to do it.
