I have a laptop (gateway solo 1400, 900 mhz, 256 ram, DVD, car adapter, ect.) that the backlight went out on. I am not sure if I should put it up for sale as is or buy a new screen for about $150 on ebay. Any sugestions from the fellow geeks here? Anyone intersted in this, either with a new screen or without?

I should note that this computer works perfect when hooked up to another monitor, so if you would want to use it that way you could.

Not an uncommon problem.

Search ebay for whole screens, you can often find one for what you have for $25. That's a whole lot cheaper than the backlight.
