Well, it has been quite a long road since locationless caches were put on moratorium. Virtual caches have been a tough issue too. Jeremy has been working for some time on the solution to locationless and virtual targets.
"May or June" is finally here.
http://www.waymarking.com
For now, only Premium Members can see this site. For a short time only owners of locationless caches can submit their sites for listing. Premium members would be next and then all geocachers will be able to submit categories. This is a slow roll-out of the site. It is still new and changing and will expand over time.
Feel free to explore if you are a Premium Member. Like I say, it will open up to all soon. Some will love it, some will not. That's expected.
Get your ideas together and get ready to submit. I have already started waypointing free WIFI spots to add to that category for example.
There is a new forum for questions, FAQ information and discussion of the new site. Once again, you must be a Premium Member to see this forum.

I hope you like it. I know I do. _________________ mtn-man... (formerly) Keeping an eye on the King! |

What happens to all the old locationless caches?
If you are a Premium Member and own a locationless geocache, we invite you to create a category on Waymarking.com. Once you have created your category we ask that you archive the geocaching.com listing to avoid confusion. Should you decide not to create a new category, your locationless cache listing will be grandfathered and remain as it is until you decide to archive it. No future locationless caches will be listed on the geocaching.com website.
What about virtual caches?
No new virtual geocaches will be listed on Geocaching.com, but if there is a suitable category for submitting your location on waymarking.com, please feel free to submit a new waymark. If you are a Premium Member and no category exists, you can create a new category for posting your waymark. |

2 listings for berry picking already, and none for Pubs and Inns? _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

Berry patches are important because this is wine and schnapps making time- the chokecherries are ripe for the picking- _________________ LIFE IS GOOD;CABIN LIFE IS GREAT |

Well, I have sent some questions in- it looks like free advertising for businesses. Doesn't look like you can count them as cache finds- like benchmarks- looks like if you start a category you are responsible for approving the waymarks listed or not as well as monitoring the category listings- I am thinking in all seriousness, this is way more than I want to get into- I don't have the time with all my other interests. I think if I am in an area I may type in the zip code to see what is in the area- especially if they don't count for geocache finds- actually it sounds like the idea of that person who started that Swiss whatever movement to do away with caches and just list co-ords to beautiful places. well, I am off to Duluth today- _________________ LIFE IS GOOD;CABIN LIFE IS GREAT |

Nah, Jeremy wouldn't rip-off somebody else's idea. Would he? |
