OK, so it's only down for me, but it's maddening. I have no idea what caused the problem, I had it fixed once, then after 2-1/2 hours it happened again.
Anywhere I try to access geocaching.com (and groundspeak.com ??) it tries to load, freezes then times out.
My NAV runs weekly, no problems. I ran ad-aware yestetrday. I have dumped "all" cookies. I have designated geocaching.com as a trusted site. I have cleared all temporary internet files. I do not have windows firewall active. It is only this site. I can go anywhere else on the internet.
My last and only remaining guess is some kind of conflict between hotmail, outlook express and geocaching.com.
Any suggestions? |

GC.com would have no reason to block your IP, would they?
Can you resolve an IP from your DNS? |

I shut down the computer for a couple hours. Re-started it, then restored back to Saturday when it worked fine. Came here, and am able to access all 5 urls.
Probably this morning was after the previous restore. Then 2-1/2 hours later, same problem.
Anyway my fingers are crossed for now. |

I tried accessing the forums at gc.com. I get the message that my IP address is being blocked. Other sites within groundspeak are accessible. I've restarted the computer, my LAN router and the DSL router. Everything is set to use DHCP.
I sent a message to groundspeak describing my problem and am waiting now on a response.
I'd sure like to get back in. Although I can do my PQs, I still like to browse the forums.
EDIT:
I just tried the forums again. There was a problem that started yesterday. They had to do a major, seemingly critical, update of the software. In their announcement, they say that everything should be running normally, now. They will provide more information about what happened as they figure out what happened and why. |
