We experienced a network error from your IP address and it has been temporarily disabled. Please contact us at admin@groundspeak.com right away so we can correct it.
Thank you,

I guess they have opted for error message variety instead of fixing the problem. |

been giving me grief for the last two days at least. Really slow, and a super drag when I am trying to log.... or check bugs, or generally try to do anything... arghhhh _________________ round n' round we go! |

3:30am CST, on Tuesday morning, and I've been trying for 1/2 hour but I've been unable to log any of the caches I found yesterday before work!!! Any old-timers out there remember when caching used to be fun? Well, finding them is still fun, but it gets frustrating when it comes to logging the darned things online. Kind of like when I used to go big game hunting--it's fun, but the real work starts after you shoot it. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

Unless I missed something, there appears to be nothing on GC forums about any problems since 3/3/06.
Hasn't Jeremy noticed the problem over the weekend? |

When the main site gets slow, I head on over to http://wap.geocaching.com and use the text-only site there. No maps, no good searches, but you can view descriptions, log your finds, etc. It really isn't a "WAP" site and is viewable in your browser just fine. _________________

I'm willing to bet some of the recent issues have to deal with all the new trackable geocoins out there. A LOT of people are logging them, usually requiring 2 logs per coin (a pickup and a drop). Cool to get new icons, but they can really be taxing on system resources.
Then again, I'm sure people would argue my thoughts on a few different levels, so really I ought to just hit the back button and not post anything...
oh well |

| Sort of strange timing that they sent out a survey today to rate our geocaching experience. I mentioned the weekend Server Busy issues in the comments section. |

This is getting pretty bad, half the times I have tried to access GeoCaching.com this week, it has been down. Again right now (9:25 AM) the site is pegged.
It's a good thing the wap site is up...but you have to know the waypoint name, but still...able to do what I need to do. |

Thanks for the reminder. I know about the wap side but forget to use it sometimes.
