It seems to me that there ought to also be a place on the "Join / Register" page to "unregister" if you so desire. _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

For data integrity reasons I would personally ask that anyone wanting to opt out be satisfied with down-shifting from an MnGCA member to just a site registrant. This way past Laker moves and milestones are not corrupted.
In my experience, very few sites that have free registrations allow people to un-register.
Sure, we could work around this issue for anyone seriously interested in cutting all ties, but I request that we try and limit these requests.

(FYI, I am speaking as one of the Laker game creators, not as an MnGCA official. I am no longer a webmaster. My comments should not be taken in any way as representative of the MnGCA board.) |

I agreed to abide by the MnGCA Bylaws so that I could see the Geocoin votes. Too late.
Now I can't 'disagree' (uncheck the checkbox) without getting the popup "You must agree to the Bylaws to become an MnGCA member".
I can cache without being a member of this increasingly political organization. |

You're correct, you cannot disagree to the Bylaws by remain an MnGCA Member. You either agree to them and are an MnGCA Member or you don't and you choose to become a Cache Games Only member.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

http://www.mngca.org/register.php -- click Cache Games Only instead of MnGCA Member and you're good to go. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I'm glad that I belong to an association that runs with Bylaws, a working Board, and safeguards to protect the association.
I'm proud to be a member of a real organization rather than a phpBB forum playing pretend. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

YOU can manually remove me. I'm not going through all that to "unregister".
Don't need this to go caching. |

Sorry, it is required that you do it yourself. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I'm a little curious as to how you got my address. I guess I must have gave it to you at some point but I want it stricken from any records you have. Can i still do that?

You may have us strike your address, but unless you provide a PO box, or the mailing address of an agent, you may not be a voting member. 317A.439 of the Minnesota statutes requires that we have a name and a mailing address for every voting member.
There is really nothing we can do about this requirement, as it is state mandated. We can not change it, only the Minnesota Legislature has that ability.
The Webmaster can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you can either strike or change your address yourself on your page. _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition. There is currently no way to "strike" your address from the records but if you would just enter information into the blanks I'm sure the code will accept it but you must switch over to "Cache Games Only" if you do so. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

So, for example, enter N/A into each of the address fields, overwriting the existing address information? _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition.
