HOLY HANNAH, that's just about the ugliest fish I've seen in a long time! I'll bet it was fun to land that one!

Are you talking about the "Gentle Ben" looking guy holding the head?

I'm really surprised that JT or Chef didn't post about the size of the carp at Mill Ruins Park.
We also saw one of biggest piles of maggots i've seen.....floating.....we had to look twice to make sure it wasn't a human body. |

646 pund fresh water catfish. _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition. Would this be irony, hypocrisy, or both? |

| Wow. You'd have fish steak for weeks or a party for the whole neighborhood. |

The news story indicates they opted for #2. They butchered it and handed it out to the villagers. _________________ I am amazed by how many people harp on the need to speak and write English in this country while exhibiting a fundamental lack of skills in the areas of spelling and sentence composition. | My guess is that they were carp. Besides, a 10-15lb catfish is not that big of catfish. I think that the blue record is something like 52lbs, the channel 38, and the flathead 70. Of course these are records, but still. I fish the Taylors Falls/St. Croix Falls Annual Catfish Tournament put on each year by the fire departments. Usually, we see many channel cats in the 20-30lb range. My largest caught that won me 4th place with my dad in 1999 was 17.9lbs. |
I just want to clarify, that when I made this post, I was refering to MN records. Not those insanely large fish from reservoirs out west and down south... |
