EVENT
Saturday, August 13th
If you've never been to this park, there are 11 caches waiting for you:
1 virtual
1 letterbox
4 easy
5 not so easy
I'd like to see a HUGE turnout, this is a wonderful park. Come for an hour or come for the day.
~edit~ adjusted cache total
~edit~ changed title

Yes beer is allowed in the park. The County Ordinance says that "glass
containers (glass bottles) are not allowed.

| If people want to donate to the park, is the paybox for wood a good place to do it? |
Yes, the wood paybox is the place for donations.
In fact the whole park budget is only $50,000 a year from the County, with that money paying one park employee as well as other expenses (gas etc.). The county is always looking for donations.
For instance , the parking lot by the shelter on the east side of Highway 169 was built by the horse groups in the area. All planted trees have been donated as well as the information Kiosks (boyscouts). And the tunnel through Hwy 169 was installed by MNDOT when they raised the road a few years ago. Two pipeline companies have been good enough to help out with donations. Another $50,000 worth of playground equipment has been ordered (much of it through County bonds) but there was $6,000 from a donor. |

| Officially I'm bringing Sloppy Joes and bottled water. Unofficially I'm bringing some of the best malted beverages from The Armory. |

Marsha and I will show up with some food. Haven't decided what yet exactly. Maybe some turkey rollups with garlic and herb? We'll see. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I'm sorry I can't make it--I promised the wife we'd go to Irish Fair at Harriet Island--three years ago, Irish Fair is where we picked up our wedding bands, and her last name is Dailey, so Irish Fair is one of the plethora of Twin Cities festivals we try our best not to miss. Highland Fest is also this weekend--one of the two times a year one can go in the "Lord of the Rings" looking tower on the corner of Snelling and Ford Parkway--that tower alone has three benchmarks one can claim, as well. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

I'm planning on caching my way there. If all works out, I should be adding 4 counties to my map of counties cached in tomorrow.
I should make it around the lunch hour-ish, but being I'm a single guy I have no idea what to make. If I think of something to buy I'll bring it. |

There are some really nice hides out there, some are well, on top of the high points. Trails are really nice, and the caching is plentyful. Have fun. _________________ round n' round we go! |
