Thanks again everyone for coming out! It's great reading everyone's logs... and I can't say enough thanks to everyone that helped out and donated to the event...
Anyway... picked up all the items this morning (fireoak came later and helped with a few as well)... but was unable to find Bridgeview Box (N46º 50.936' W092º 00.318'). Perhaps it's in Lake Superior now, but if you're in the area and want to wander around the park sometime and find it (if it's there), you get 50,000 bonus points. I don't like DNFing my own caches!
Here's the top finishers from the Punch-Out Challenge:
6 - 2h28m - joe tulips - Titonka, IA
6 - 2h29m - EskoClimber - Esko, MN
6 - 2h38m - Early Starts - Ham Lake, MN
6 - 2h45m - Proton - Embarrass, MN
6 - 2h45m - Proton3D - Embarrass, MN
6 - 2h49m - fireoak - Duluth, MN
6 - 2h49m - KC0GRN - Saint Paul, MN
5 - Pear Head - Duluth, MN
4 - Jillibean - Saint Paul, MN
4 - MNFlyers - Duluth, MN
4 - MSea - Duluth, MN
4 - towlebooth - Saint Paul, MN
Another interesting bit about the event: Almost exactly half of the participants were from the Duluth and surrounding areas. The other half were from the rest of Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri.
I had a lot of fun. Thanks for coming out.

Proton gave me a pair of what appears to be corrective glasses he found on the trail. Are they yours? Let me know.

Ok, lets see if I can spell "idiot" ok here goes "ScubaAl" well close anyway. Heres the deal. I had not planned on attending the event in Duluth. So did not think about it a lot during the up coming week. Most weekends I go up to Knife river marina where I have a boat. Well I arrive and the weather sucks no fishing today. Not even thinking about the "Bash" I go for a drive, tried to find the new cache at Beaver creek with no luck. I end up driving all the way to Grand Portage and stopping at the casino for awhile. Then back to the marina for the night.
This morning I get up and weather still sucks so figured I'd head home. Doing a few caches on the way. I find "A Place By the lake" I see a few names in the log that I recognize from here in the cities. On to "Anchors Away" and the cacher before me in the log is GoodBoy then it comes to me.
IDIOT=ScubaAl
P.S. Won $23.00 at the casino |

I headed out around lunchtime with Joelcam, we did what we could even in the rain, wasn't terribly fun on the drive home, considering I was soaked, but I managed a few temp caches and a couple of the permanents in the park. Pulled out about 4pm, pavillion was empty, so I figured everyone had gone to the campgrounds.
Great time, I only wish I'd done a bit better timewise in the punch out competition, but being this was my first one, it was a good learning experience. If anyone decides to have one at another event, I'd be interested in participating again. |

There has been some small/short discussion about having another pre-MOGA event in the fall. We'll see. Hopefullly someone else will plan it this time and I can run the course _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

Would there be enough interest in two seperate ones (not at the same event of course)? Perhaps the people interested could take turns, one time set up a course, then switch for the next and run a course? I'd be happy to set one up, but would like to do another one as well. |

50,000 points for me!!!
Found the Bridgeview cache..'cept my husband actually found it once we were in the spot..3 y.o. was extremely disappointed that there were no toys in there..
Anyways, it sort of makes up for only finding one on the timed challenge..
Had some water in it, so had to dry out the contents.... |

Wow! Congrats. It means a lot when people DNF it, the person who actually hid the cache DNFs it, and then it's found.
In addition to 50,000 bonus points, if you want, you can keep the cache container and re-use it for a new cache. If you do not want the cache and it's contents I can pick it up from you the next time I'm in Duluth... or I can give you coordinates to a place I know (on private land, with permission) where you can hide it and I can pick it up the next time I'm there.
Honestly, I think it'd be neat if you kept it and re-used it.
Again, congrats!

I was going to leave it there if I found it and put it in for a real cache, but I thought it would easily wash out in the next storm..it had a bit of water in it, so I don't know if the lid wasn't quite put on right or if it leaks. If you are going to be up here soon, let me know and I'll leave it somewhere for you to find..or send me the coords of your spot, as long as I don't get into trouble....
I couldn't find my own cache last week (Neighborhood Park) when I took the Portman Rec kids caching in Lakeside..so you are not the only one... |

| okay odd request. s4xton, do you have a copy of the info packet you handed out at the lester park event? I'm trying to update my offline finds database in GSAK and I'd like to get the coordinates from the temp caches that I found. |
