Hi, newbie here. I just started geocaching a month ago after my family gave me a GPS for my birthday. Great fun! The kids love it, my wife enjoys it, and I love it.
I see there are often weeknight GC's and I'm wondering how these are structured. Is it a race to see who logs them all first, is it a casual event, does everyone go in one big mass of people, any social activities afterwards? I'm interested in going to one some night.

Andie and I went out with the WeekNIGHT caching crew for the first time last Wednesday. We had a great time and they even let us find the first cache before the rest of them. I highly recommend going.

Well, we do what we can Including letting the Magellan users participate in scientifically proving that their GPSs are 30+ feet off

I will be there, of course, but we do ask that if you plan on attending that you let us know that way we will wait for you...
We frequently have problems w/people not letting us know they are coming and then showing up in the middle of things.
If you just lurk on the forums you can always email one of us to let us know.

My son is with his dad tonight, so I would be free, but I do need to do a bit of work on my car. I'm not sure how long that will take (whenever I do repairs myself, they always seem to take twice as long as I think they should).
So, although I could conceivably finish up with enough time to spare to join y'alls for some caching this evening, I think I'll bow out this time. Have fun and welcome to the new person (Pat). |

whoa wait a min, this week's is on a Tuesday? I was so used to these being on a Wednesday my mind completely skips over the topic.
Hmm, now I'd like to go, but I'll be at work a bit late this evening.. Anyways, I'll try and keep an open mind for future ones. |

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Buzzygirl, I keep running into you all over. I don't post much anywhere and when I do I don't have the same username so I know you don't recognize my username.
Regards,

I was glad to come out and re-join the WeekNIGHT caching crew tonight, even though I BSV'd on one and we crapped out on another. It was still great to see everyone as always.
Wish we hadn't wrapped up so late or I would have joined you for post-caching refreshment. Such is life when tomorrow's wake-up time is 5:15AM. We'll try again next time!

Great time was had by all: drat19, jambro and wife, Moe the Sleaze, s4xton, Marsha and Silent Bob, onied cooky, and ctc128. ctc128, jambro and wife, Marsha and Silent Bob, and onied cooky headed over to Green Mill after some cat/mouse car chasing for food and beers while the rest of the group BSV'd out.
Thanks again guys/gals! _________________ Sad state of affairs. |
