What does everyone think about that list? The first four are unfound for me. I do know that some of the regulars either own the caches or have found it. The first one is brand new.

Any other ideas or is this fine?

Depending on what time (I've got to drive up from EP), this sounds good to me. Of course, if any of the locals find this group of caches "redundant" (because they've already found 'em), I'm open to other suggestions as well.

I wouldn't count on the new one still being active. Look at the maps.

Perhaps the locals know something about this that I don't. What's your point on this?

I've found two of the four on the list (not the new one) and was planning on visiting Charlie Pitts this coming weekend. I won't be able to join you on Wednesday, I have four places I need to be within a three-hour time span that evening. Have fun if you go!

How about this for a plan:

7:30pm - Wednesday

1: GCJ1GC Very, Very Very, MaryDale. There is parking along the road right near this cache, enough room for a bunch of cars. The cache is literally about 20m from the road. We can carpool from there. If you arrive early, my opinion is to go ahead and find it (but don't move it!) so everyone has a chance to hunt it down as people arrive. It's pretty easy. Be stealthy so other people don't see where it is.

2: GCMT2J Clickity, Clickity, Clickity MaryDale.

3: GCK5FR Return of the King. I'll see if I can talk KB into making that not Members-Only for Wednesday.

4: GCK6BR Where is Charlie Pitts??

Afterwards, go back to the first cache to pick up the cars, which is right near Dale. Go south on Dale and cross I-94. Near the corner of Dale and Selby there are some great locally owned and non-chain recommendations to get drinks:

Chang O'Hara's: Swanky but casual and laid back. Good food, good beer variety and nice atmosphere. Used to be a cross between an Asian restaurant and Irish pub. Now the menu is much more American. Generally fun staff. I am addicted to their french fries. Probably good if we have 4-7 people.

Sweeny's: Even more laid back than Chang's. Not a huge beer variety, but still really good. Full menu of generally American food and lots of appetizers. Probably the best if we have a huge group and hungry. Sweeny's would be the most accommodating to us moving tables around if we needed to.

The Muddy Pig: Despite the horrible website, one of the few bars in the Twin Cities with a true variety of beers. Chances are that more than 50% of the beers there you haven't heard of, and they are all worth trying. The owner has an incredible amount of experience, is well travelled and has great taste. I'm amazed at some of the rare stuff he's able to get. Seems to specialize in Belgians but has a lot of Irish, English and German stuff. They also pour some domestics. Staff is very knowledgeable. Food menu small, expensive, but good. Recommended if the group is small and is interested in trying something different to drink.

***

Any thoughts on the caches? Sound good? We can decide on the bar/pub from the 4th cache unless there are opinions now...

Phooey... now I wish I hadn't over-extended myself for Wednesday night. This sounds like a good time Mad

I used to live in the area, and I do recommend the Muddy Pig for both their food and brew. Their specials are generally very good.

Fabulous Fern's also has pretty good food (that is just up Selby, near Western). If you have a hankerin' for our state fish, Grand Tavern (on Grand, near Dale) has the best walleye in town.

If you don't mind a newbie tagging along, I might be interested. Been sick the last week, so I haven't been able to get out much, starting to get the bug again...I'll check the calendar (and with management) in the morning, see if anything's going...
