From the MPR story I heard this morning, all of the flawed coins came from the mint in Denver, as far as they know... which explains why they're being found in Arizona and Texas, apparently. If we'll see one actually in circulation around here, who knows.

We'll have to see just how rare this variety ends up being, now that many people are aware of it and will be checking their pocket change for them.

There have historically been many coins struck with more than one design variety, but this one apparently wasn't authorized by the US Mint, which could potentially make them more valuable-- especially if not many were minted.
