I have no need to use any GPSbabel frontend as I understand the CLI just fine. gpx2st 24850.gpx is a lot easier than opening a frontend
YMMV. |
This makes perfect sense. I used watcher for awhile, too, but apparently at some point, my mileage did vary and I decided to hop over to GSAK. I'm sure I'll switch again sometime just for the fun of playing with different software. |

Define whatever filter you want in GSAK, then go to File | Export | Microsoft Streets and Trips CSV File. That should get you started. Once you figure out what you're doing, you can set up some macros to automate things for you. |

I just looked through the filter settings - I have no clue what should be set how to get my things to Microsoft Streets & Trips. Then I looked under File / Export / Microsoft Streets & Trips, and had no clue what it was asking, or how to go about it...
Is it possible I could get more details??? |

| All I want to do, is take my entire GSAK database, and have the caches all show up on a Streets & Trips page. I don't know what this filter business is all about. I don't need to filter anything - send it all!!! |

That will work. No need to filter then. Just export everything.
I tend to work in smaller subsets. For example, give me everything within 20 miles of my mother-in-law's house. Then I send those to the Palm, GPS, and Mapsource, and I'm good to go when the conversation turns to sewing and hair dye. |

I don't use Streets & Trips, so I'm not sure what GSAK wants at this point. However, use the GSAK help button in that dialog that confuses you. It will open up a help file for the dialog where you can click on each of the boxes to get further information.
You're not going to hurt anything by experimenting. Just try an export and see what it gets you, then try one or two more and you'll start to refine things.
I'm afraid I have to bail out on you right now -- time to go caching. I'll check back later. Good luck. |
