That heading should get this posting a few readers. Laughing I'm not trying to be controversial; I'm just wondering. Here is what I am asking. When my daughter was up she mentioned that as an employee of the MNDNR and as a member of IMBA (International Mountain Biking Assoc.) she is able to be a part of two different teams to get discounts off of items from over three hundred different companies through Promotive.com. Many of the items discounted are outdoors items. As I started looking through listings I noticed that Groundspeak employees are a team, also. The teams may be employees, but members of groups, also, may apply as a team. So far under the outdoors options I haven't found a group that I am a member of. Being self-employed doesn't help and I don't see the state agency that I work for listed. Just wondering since many of the items would be used by those who spend time outside.

I'm a member of Sierra Club and MPR (not that I'm a bleeding heart lib or anything, but I like nature, as well as news that isn't biased by whomever gives the news source the most money, as well as alt/indy/local music), and both of those get me discounts as well - I don't think MPR has a minimum amount to become a member, but Sierra Club does. Also, as a Soldier in the Minnesota Army National Guard, I'll sometimes ask "do you still have a military discount?" at places, and sometimes they'll knock a percentage off, even if they don't have a discount, depending on who's working the register - seems to be about 50/50 at Old Country Buffet when I go there for Breakfast Buddies.

This was discussed at the most recent board meeting and it was decided not to pursue this at this time.

We listen to Car Talk, Wait Wait, and Wits...sometimes Prairie Home Companion. Not members, definitely not lib or anything like that...but they have some good shows worth listening to Smile
