Via the MnGCA Facebook page:

"We are striving to have a 50 State Star Geoart placed in each of the 50 States. We had a great 4th of July kickoff for the series! We are looking for volunteers in other states that would like to be a part of this growing series.

What we require is someone that has knowledge of hiding all types of caches, can place 51 caches, and is willing to maintain them for your state.

You would need an area about 2 miles x 2 miles and clear of any caches. You send us the center point Coordinates and we will send you the rest of the coordinates for the star. We also require that you create the pages and submit them. First person to give us the Cords is the person that gets the State Star. We provide all the information needed to help you create the pages on this account. If you are interested email us...."

I think this looks fun. I am visualizing a group project, with many different people supplying the puzzles. There would be a 'launch' event...and since this is supposed to be in all 50 state, maybe a coin? What does everyone think?

AND

not private property / has permission

AND

is accessible

This sounds hard to me.

Look at a state forest, or maybe out in the country if you can use puzzles. Plenty of opportunities there.

Center Point: N 44 06.153 W 92 55.514 or N 44 13.569 W 92 51.728

I was more wondering about someplace like Florida or Rhode Island that are small and/or have less public land.

And it had not occurred to me that using puzzles was an option. Is that common with geo-art?

I always pictured a group of traditionals and thought that was part of the coolness. that you'd be tracing the shape as you did the physical finds.

See Geo-Art Thread for other examples.
