Whatever happened to the gc.com weekly email newsletters? I used to get it and kept me up on the listing of events and things (since I'm not caching as much any more) but I don't remember seeing for for a while now.

Do they still do it?

I just got one yesterday and about weekly, yep. Maybe you got unsubscribed somehow, or your spam filter became suspicious of it?

There's also a geocaching blog - http://blog.geocaching.com/ That comes out more often than the weekly email. But like the national forums, expect someone to chime in and sharp-shoot you if post any comments.

I love how well over 50% of the geocaches highlighted in the blog violate some Groundspeak guideline.. many of the same guidelines that keep some of my geocache ideas from getting published here. And I am NOT knocking our local reviewers. I think the inconsistencies at Groundspeak are appalling. Practice what you preach or ease up on the rest of us knuckleheads.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person who has noticed this.

Starting to drift off-topic a bit but I think I could easily find 100 caches in western Hennepin county alone that violate a guideline. When it comes to the private property guideline many cache owners (including some very experienced ones) are either oblivious, in denial or just don't give a $#!+.

I know of at least one former reviewer who agrees with this.

I'm still not getting the newsletter. Not sure I ever have. It's not in my spam folder. I checked my email address in my profile and it is valid. I checked my filters and I believe they are ok. Any other ideas?

You are set up to have them send it to you, right?

hmm, is that the one asking if I want to receive fun and helpful emails from Geocaching.com? I am now. I didn't realize that's what that was.
