First off, I was wondering about camping. Any tent spots within 20 miles, with reasonable fees, near a lake.

2. Do you know anything about the primitive sites on the trail, photos count. Question

There are a few state forests up that way with camping and camping is free... Check out Paul Bunyan SF: Gulch Lake and Mantrap Lake camp grounds. Mantrap is a bit closer to the trail, and there is an old hide there too...

Other areas see Badoura SF, or Foot Hills SF both have dispersed camping but not sure about near lakes.

Have fun and remember your orange this time of year.

Actually I'm going next June, just planning now.
